Super Eagles of Nigeria goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, has urged his club, Udinese to move on from their away defeat to Roma.

Maduka Okoye was between the sticks for Udinese on Sunday, September 22, but couldn’t stop them from conceding three unreplied goals in the Italian Serie A game.

The 3-0 defeat was the club’s first loss in the Serie A this season. It also marks the first time Okoye conceded three goals in a Serie A match this season.

Despite expressing disappointment with the outcome, Okoye highlighted the need for the team to shift their focus away from the defeat.

The Nigeria international acknowledged the challenging nature of the match, emphasizing the team’s need to improve movement and communication on the field.

Looking ahead, Okoye emphasized the upcoming Coppa Italia match against Salernitana and the subsequent fixture against Inter Milan on Saturday as significant opportunities for the team to demonstrate their focus and determination.

“We started the season well, but today was a difficult match. We played against a great team,” Maduka Okoye told the club’s official website.

“Today we lacked a bit of movement and communication, but now we immediately focus on the Coppa Italia and Inter on Saturday.

“We are disappointed, but we must immediately look forward; Salernitana and Inter are two great opportunities; we must stay focused.”
